Yes! Wow... you know a lot. These late night talk shows are how a lot of people get the news as to what is going on in the world. They tell you the true news... and then they make a joke about it after.

Yes I know, that's why I like them. You get the main news in the world with humor.

I loved the jokes on Bush, he was certainly an excellent president to make fun of. Now I think comedians will have a hard time with Obama. I can see how it is hard to make fun of him.

Well, this is sliding into political talk and hmmm, that always seems to upset some people. I think though that Algerians have a more "Worldly" knowledge than a lot of Americans. Sad as that is but I feel it is true. The Republican party that Bush belonged too is more and more the "Evangelic" party. Meaning that they are turning more and more to "Christian" values more than political values. So, now we got two hot topics... Politics AND Religion. I guess the easiest way I can explain the republicans besides "White, Old, white haired, Ivy league educated, Christians" is basically the party that is disolving! In the U.S. the majority of the people, more and more are NONwhite and so they are the minority with voting now but more and more they are voting and guess what? The republicans are NOT reaching these people... you can see why I am sure... so in 10 years unless the republicans change. They are done!

The majority of Americans do not believe in their right wing views but there are some "wack jobs" out there who do. Wack jobs... nut jobs... all slang for weirdos... which is slang for weird :) Another words they are crazy!

If you can compare it like this... The taliban obeys shariah law... okay, not everyone likes that where they are... Women who were once doctors are now having to stay home and cook. A man can rape a woman and it is the womans fault. "I can be wrong and I am welcoming any correction" I see very poor treatment of women in these Shariah law places. My point is that where the taliban and shariah laws are... I feel they are hard core 'SLANG' meaning, too strong or too much... too extreme! So, my comparison for these people is our Christian RIGHT WING evangelical people here. With the one big strong caveat that there is not even close the same abuses that go on with the Taliban. It is a strong comparison and extreme but the taliban have strong beliefs in thier religion and how they want to govern and the same with our right wing christians here how they want religion to rule everything here.

I think everything in the middle... everything with balance myself. It is hard to do but the U.S. has been doing it (Democracy) for over 200 years now and it is not the best but I believe as a proud American that ours is not the best but it is better than all the rest. So, here is some stuff to talk about huh? I love to write and it is easy for me. I just think that this forum is not so much for English :eek: but ya can't get rid of me that easy :D

As to what you said... YES! Bush was a TOTAL and complete DISASTER!!!!!!!!
Invading a country who did not attack us. The internet bubble... this latest housing bubble that has decimated MANY lifes... high unemployment and lets not forget the struggle and collapse of many countries around the world that have been effected by our problems. Not only that but Bush represented our country... I believe the country that has done more for other countries than any other. We give money to MANY countries... billions... even countries that out right hate us! So, I am proud to be an American but when our number one man... our president is okaying torture! Wow! putting people in prison in Cuba for what and how long? Are they innocent or guilty? How do we know for sure? I am SURE there are some very EVIL people there but also some very innocent people there. Good or bad we do not torture! The other side of this too is how long do we imprison them? Forever? What? It is just a horribly ill planned thing that Bush has done. He has been an utter embarrassment to many many Americans. Just a DISASTER!!!!! He was a cheerleader in college... yea, no sports... a freakin cheerleader for sports! Not too manly. Then he is doing COCAINE... how can we have a president... a so called "Christian" who is doing cocaine... Yea, he was horrible!

As for Obama... I mean what is not to love about this man! I got what we call a man crush for him :) I am married so don't get the wrong idea but a crush is when you like someone a lot and he is just a guy who you have got to adore... have such strong faith in him that he will help us all and do the right thing. And he plays basketball... NOT a cheerleader... He is so dam bright too... Wow! A very smart man... Very. The sad thing is that the color of his skin is going to make a lot of people angry and fill them with hate! Just because he is black. He is a great guy! They call him a socialist... but what is so horrible about socialism? Na, he is a great guy and I love em. I can't wait to see the magic that he is going to do. He is pulling our soldiers out of Iraq as fast as he can without leaving an anarchy void. He is closing guantanamo in Cuba. He met with Chavez and going to with Achmadenajad... not sure on spelling... But we need a man who is not affraid of these people and will talk to anyone... Talk first and THEN deply if you have too. I was in the Army when I was young... PEACE and diplomacy first!

That's enough... I am tired and going to sleep now. To sum up. Taliban bad. Shariah bad. Christian right wing bad. Balance democracy good. Bush embarrassing disaster. Obama Magic! Bouboule Dormir
