Getting married is very much like going to a restaurant with friends.
You order what you want then, When you see what the other person has, You wish you had ordered that.

------------------------------------------------------------

Man: Is there any way for long life?

Dr: Get married.

Man: Will it help?

Dr: No but the thought of long life will never come

------------------------------------------------------------

Wife: Darling today is our anniversary, what should we do?
Husband: Let us stand in silence for 2 minutes.

------------------------------------------------------------

It's funny when people discuss Love Marriage vs Arranged.
It's like asking someone,
If suicide is better or being murdered.

------------------------------------------------------------

Before marriage,
A man will lie awake all night Thinking about something you say.
After marriage, he'll fall asleep before you finish.

------------------------------------------------------------

There's a way of transferring funds
That is even faster than electronic banking.
It's called marriage.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Girlfriends are like CHOCOLATES - Taste good anytime.

Lovers are like PIZZAS - Hot n spicy, eaten frequently.

Wife's are like Dhal & RICE - Eaten when there's no choice.

------------------------------------------------------------

Man receives telegram: Wife dead-should be buried or cremated?
Man: Don't take any chances. Burn the body and bury the ash.

------------------------------------------------------------

Prospective husband:
Do you have a book called 'Man, The Master of Women' ?
Salesgirl: The fiction department is on the other side, sir.

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Why dogs don't marry?
A: Because they are already leading a dog's life!

------------------------------------------------------------

Fact of life:
One woman brings you into this world crying &
the other ensures you continue to do so for the rest of your life!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Why doesn't law permit a man to marry a second woman (in the west)?
A: Because as per the law You cannot be punished twice For the same offence!

LIVE & LET LIVE!

Here is something you can do while you are confused...

"Rocket Science"

Lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction. It will automatically begin circling counter-clockwise.

Well, I guess in marriage sometimes you need to find ways to amuse yourself
:) These are highly complex thought process that are very important. I don't know if you are a man or a woman Melle but the man's psyche is a highly developed and complicated thought machine. These matters of cordination and great skill can not be taken lightly :D

Yes that's true, different culture different humour.

What do you mean by fungi, never heard of that word before. Is that some sort of slung.

Yes I am algerian as most of the people on this forum.

Wow! an 11 month baby, that must bring a lot of joy to both of you.

A lil 11 month... lil for little ... You are using slang and the rare people of this forum who do read English can not understand what you mean, the only English they know is the British English they learned at school. They don't teach American slang at school in Algeria :-(

As for your daughter, she is half Algerian and Half American. But I'm not sure if she has the Algerian citizenship by law because her mom is Algerian. Maybe some people on this forum know the answer. You see the law in Algeria is different. In America, someone who is born in another country, if one of their parents is American, they are automatically Americans by law. Not the same in Algeria, it is complicated.

Would you like your daughter to have her Algerian citizenship?

What is your daughter's name?

Have a good day.

Vous es tres correct. C'est une mon fault. Desole'
When you said that I was a fun guy... the slang I did was a joke... I said I was a "Fungi" which is kinda funny... to me  It is a play on the words fun guy and fungi... one is well, you know... a guy who is fun and the other is a green moss... an algae or mold... bacteria maybe??? So a play on the word... fungi and fun guy... Silly American humour...

Mercie beaucoup por vous interest en mon petite chou... Elle est onze muan? Horrible French... she is 11 months and her name is Alexie Samia... the Alexie part for the U.S. and Samia so she knows where she came from. I feel it is tres important that Alexie Samia knows where she came from and her history.
Americans are a mix of people from all over the world... so like for me, I can say I am Scottish but for me to be 100% Scottish... both my mother and father have to be from Scotland and maybe me be born in Scotland but that is not true... only ancestors... You know like Mel Gibson, Braveheart ;)

No slang there... just bad humour again :D Your English is good and I hope that one day maybe someone who speaks English can hook up with me here.

I want my daughter to completely embrace her history, heritage and culture on her mothers side. Algeria has a long history and an interesting people. It is who she is... she is half Algerian... the good half :D She will grow up in American and learn how to say Dude but I would also like her to learn Arabic in the Mosque and French... She will learn English all on her own living here but I want her culturally diverse... as diverse as she can be... Open to ALL people cultures and languages... There is more to cultures than Hamburgers and french fries... I know that is VERY important but I want her to have a vast knowledge of the world and a passport with stamps of many countries in it... How I will pay for this??? I don't know :D but I will educate her to be an open person and instill a curiosity in sociology and cultures... The world is getting smaller... so she needs to be able to connect with everyone. Yes, even the Berbers :D :D

I am VERY open to other cultures... when your own doesn't want you anymore you have to go somewhere  As far as terrorism... I am sure that is a hot topic here... I will say this on that... Islam has it's idiots just like Christians has theres. I mean that. There is a wing of Muslims that are crazy... For example... I would not want to spend a holiday in Pakistan right now. That being said... we have plenty of white skin head aryan Sh** heads here... This is a LOOOONG conversation I am sure.

Just know this... there are MANY people just like me in the U.S. who are liberal and educated... Okay, so I have the liberal part  but many here have passports but I am sorry to say a lot don't. What I mean by that is that they watch the tv and judge their world from there sofa. It is really sad.
Islam is a beautiful religion and it is sad to see that there are those that think that it is very scary and that they are all terrorists. Now, that being said... I get along with MODERATE people from all walks of life. So, I have a VERY HARD TIME with these Christian right Bush supporters... I have a very hard time with them... and I am sure that I would have a very hard time with Muslims that are so hard core they would not even want to talk with ME... Because I am obviously from the West. You know? AND I can even talk some Arabic... but wouldn't matter to them. I have a hard time with people like that.

So, I will teach my daughter to be open and not judge others... JUST her Moms cooking ;)

Bonjour, tout la monde. I just wanted to say that the internet is huge yes but I don't believe that there are that many Algerian blogs like this. So to me... I don't find it to unusual to meet other Algerians from the same city.
I liked Algiers of course and I also ate pizza at the top of the hill in tizi zou zou... sorry on spelling but those are places that stand out with me... they were lively with people. I went to boumerdes... I mean all of these places I am sure are VERY familiar with people from Algeria of course. It is a beautiful country but most everybody lives in the N. right? If someone was met and they were from the South then that would be something to me. Algeria is HUGE but in many ways... what makes it so nice is it is in some ways... a small town atmosphere. Do you agree? Now, if you guys knew each other or were from the same village... that would be cool. Eh, what do I know... Just didn't seem all that huge to me... so makes sense to me. Let me put it to you guys this way. When I was there... I went to the circus in Tizi zou zou and I also saw the circus set up in Algiers... that is what I mean. There are beautiful places in between I am sure... but arn't these like the main cities around? Or am I wrong.

Yes you are right, most Algerians live in the North. Nobody would like to live in the desert unless they are born there or they make sacrifices and work there because they are paid more in the south.

I guess you are comparing Algeria to the USA? Well, of course it is a small town compared to your huge country. Algeria is only about the size of California and how many states do you have? 50!

It's true that it is a small world we live in and being from a small country and the fact that there are not that many Algerian forums, it is easier to meet people from your own city.

I'm glad that you liked Algeria. There are many places that you missed during your trip. Like visiting the south - desert and also the Roman ruins in Tipasa, there are also nice cities like Bejaia, Oran and Constantine, etc. But I guess being an American you limited your trip because of terrorism problems? If that is the case, I do think you are right and you need to be careful. Nothing would please a terrorist than kidnapping an American because they would get a lot of media coverage. They can also ask for a high ransom... Well, better be careful than sorry.

Hi Melle,

Yea, it is sad... it really is because honestly I DID like it there. There was times when I was there with my wife that we were told not to go to the same place at the same time every day. The ONE TIME I was nervous or made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and it could be nothing but it was when I went to my wife's sisters house... Her sister went to go get bread and came back with a lot of bread and her sister said that the guy said... "Ahhhhh, the American is here". Because she bought a lot of bread. It was innocent I am sure... but if HE knows something like that then it might be a bit of news in a small area that there is an American staying somewhere or going somewhere at the same time or ONLY these places... You just don't want to run into the wrong people and they are out there. When the man said that it made a point to me or made a separation or distinction, not sure exactly how to say it but it made me stand out as an "Amercian" and this is when wonderful Bush was our president  It wasn't good and unlike my profile picture... I am 2 meters with red hair... probably 130 kilos so I STAND OUT!!! Big O American... probably with my camo shorts and other things that was standing out a bit. Yes, it makes you think. It is really a shame because there were SO MANY INNOCENT times there for me... A beautiful night on the beach sitting enjoying the weather and talking eating ice cream. Nice moon, soft air... it was nice. There was a little boy there from New York eating his ice cream. I said to him... "Oh, your English is perfect" He said, "I know" :D
Swimming with my wifes friends and seeing a camel on the beach... very cool... sunsets there and our rented chairs and umbrellas... THEN, you look up and there is a police presence... They have trucks with metal grills on the windows... You get the reality of the place smashed back in your face with that... then you go about your business and go for a horse buggy ride around the block... just relaxing hearing the horse walk. I can understand terrorists not liking my government... I didn't like Bush... but I am just a married guy who likes to eat and have fun like others. Everyone wants to make some money and make a nice life for themselves and their families... I just don't see how terrorism can accomplish this????????????????????????????????? sad

Cheney: No link between Saddam Hussein, 9/11

Can you believe this Melle. Wow! This man who had a lesbian daughter came out against ANYTHING gay. I am not against gays... if they want to marry, marry... they have the same right to suffer as anyone. :D
He is a hypocrit, a major hypocrit. Look, I have a daughter... if she turns out to be lesbian... I will love her just the same and I will ALWAYS LOVE HER! How can I not! But Chenny abandoned his own daughter for political gain because of the Republican base... the Christian right. This is off topic I know but it is to show the character of Chenny.
NOW... it turns out that there was NO REASON AT ALL for us to go into Iraq. Wow! We should NEVER have gone in because Sadam did not invade Hollywood. I didn't see his tanks rolling on the beaches of Santa Monica forcing sun bathers to move inland. I am being dramatic but it is true. We invaded another country dropping 500-1000 pound bombs on a city for no reason. WE started it... just out of the blue BAMB! We have a bomb called the MOAB... they nicknamed the Mother Of All Bombs, MOAB. It is the most powerful bomb we have in our arsenal that is NON atomic. We have not used these in war before... Guess what... Kabooom, IRAQ.
It just angers me that AFTER THE FACT... these politicians come out now saying... Yea, well, we didn't need to do this... we count each and every American that died... yet, we could lose 300 U.S. soldiers... and I WAS in the Army so that means a great deal to me... but there is NO MENTION of the 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians that died. What the Fu** is that all about?
I just had to write about this because I just read this on CNN. I personally think Chenny hates Bush. I really really do. I think Rumsfeld and Chenny and Bush... these men are going to go down in history as the worst ever in political history.
I am sure others read these things I write from time to time. I hope that is not vain of me to say so. But if this is the case... then I want all to know that I AM a very proud American. I think that there is a certain innocence that has been lost with our leaders here. My family has always trusted our president. We felt that they have ALL the interior info from the CIA or other means that we do not... So if Bush says, "there is going to be a mushroom cloud in Time Square, N.Y. new york" then we believed him. I think that is all gone now. There will never be a preemptive strike again in the future I am sure... nobody will TRUST the government again after this... and then torture too. Wow!
Did you know that Alid shake mohammed, I know I did not spell the first right... Did you know he was water boarded 183 times... I guess they didn't get enough information the first 181 times. Just amazing. This has embarrassed the America, me as a citizen... regular people... and has angered us all. America used to be moral and now this... Bush has done SUCH great damage to our ... well, how we are viewed in the world. For all out there. I am American, we have beautiful country here... it is STILL the land of opportunity and our government might not be always perfect but in my opinion it is the best out there.
When my wife was coming to the U.S., I tell you... we were in immagration coming in here... I have NEVER seen so MANY people from all over the world coming in too. There were Shieks from India and Blacks from Southern Africa... I mean I can go on and on but if you were to take a sample from all over the world and put them in this room... that is what you have and they are ALL coming to America and that makes me so happy! You see, the terrorists that bomb the world trade bldgs. There were MUSLIMS in those towers that died. It doesn't make sense to me.
Okay, sorry... that is my rant this time... it just pissed me off to read about Chenny... it was a mistake... OMG... Uh.

Chenney put politics ahead of his family. Maybe he is not against gays as his daughter is gay, but he can not say so because he is republican. Most politicians say things to get themselves elected.

But you know what? I think that the new president will eventually restore america's image in the world. Bush really did a lot of damage.
