ALDI has been accused of selling Israeli fruit as "Produce of Cyprus". The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign accused the supermarket giant of switching labels on grapefruit to con shoppers who wanted to boycott Israeli goods. The label mix-up was reported in the Cyprus Mail where farmers are worried the confusion could damage their reputation after the invasion of Gaza. Aldi claimed the gaffe was down to a supplier's packaging error. A spokesman said: "As soon as it became aware of the issue, Aldi corrected it."
